Global sourcing programme for SABMiller
Background
Rapid international growth mainly through acquisition left SABMiller facing the challenge of leveraging its scale to optimise its IT environments. Having reviewed its voice and data communications services, SABMiller identified it was paying increased costs through numerous legacy contracts with different suppliers across 34 countries leaving it with a mix of technologies and inconsistent service levels globally.
The project
SABMiller engaged Hudson & Yorke to develop a sourcing strategy, including a phased consolidation of its global supplier base, with the objective of signing a single global outsource contract with a best-of-breed vendor. Hudson & Yorke was involved in the global sourcing process, from the production of the request for proposal (RFP) through to vendor evaluation and contract negotiation. The scope covered all voice and data services across 34 countries in Europe and Latin America.
